What a fantastic start to Urban Salt it has been. Having only been open a few months and its has been a whirlwind, and I cant wait to do it all again in 2018!
Having left a full time job I loved within the smart home automation industry, I took a big leap of faith to start my own business supporting local Portsmouth and Southsea businesses. And I can honestly say it was the best decision I have made. Scary at the time, but I love what I have achieved for my customers.
The ‘year’ started for me with my first client, Strong Island Clothing Co who were working on their new website with the goal to grow online sales. We also worked on the move of their retail store to the vibrant Marmion Road, Southsea. We have had many campaigns from the store opening and website launch to new season drops and sales. We have some really exciting projects in store for 2018 which I cant wait to get stuck into!
Southsea Lifestyle Magazine has been a fantastic project. Previously being the Southsea Directory, the magazine had a sound readership. But the challenge was to grow this and the online audience. In the last few months we have seen the online engagement grow rapidly from the start of the campaign. As of Dec 2017 the magazine has moved to bi-monthly issues, which is very exciting and I’m looking forward to our plans for the forthcoming year.
Local jewellery Designer Charlotte Cornelius opened her second boutique on Marmion Road, The Workshop. This new boutique is really special as it is where all of her jewellery is designed and hand crafted using both traditional and modern techniques in a workshop that is visible to the customers through a glass panel within the shop. I was fortunate enough to be part of the new boutique’s launch campaign, which was great fun and incredibly rewarding. We got the Deputy Lord Mayor to officially open the boutique and were published in The News.
There are lots of things in the pipeline 2018, and I can’t to continue to help more Portsmouth and Southsea businesses to reach their business goals and grow.
