Southsea Lifestyle Magazine came to me towards the start of my freelance career having found me through my Southsea based lifestyle blog, Girl About Southsea. It was a match made in heaven from the start.
The magazine was formally known as Southsea Directory and in 2016 changed to what we know now as Southsea Lifestyle – a free magazine featuring culture, people, business, the community and what’s on in the local area.
My main goal from the start of this project was the grow the readership both print and online. The magazine had always published each issue on the website, but we needed to raise awareness of the online magazine and the website itself, to grow online readership.
One of the first steps was a marketing strategy, covering a communications plan and a social media strategy. Since implementing the communications plan, which included online content and email newsletters, plus the social media strategy, we have seen a significant rise in social media engagement and social referrals. Over the last few months I have been working on an editorial calendar and refining the strategy ahead of some very exciting changes for the magazine this year.
It’s such an exciting project and I am thrilled to be a part of the magazine’s journey.
